The mission of Furnishing Hope is to help people who are just transitioning out of homelessness with basic furnishings. We serve Tempe and the immediate surrounding area. Furnishing Hope is run by a small group of volunteers donating their time to collect and distribute usable donated furniture and household items. We can assist approximately 8 households with furnishings each month.
To receive assistance from us, an individual/family must meet the following requirements to be considered.
- Individual/family is just transitioning out of homelessness and does not have basic home furnishings.
- Individual/family is moving into a place that is within our service area (about 15 miles from our storage unit in Tempe at Rural and Broadway).
- Case managers must accompany individual/family to the appointment and also provide the individual/family with transportation from the appointment back to their appointment.
Case managers fill out the application below to refer clients to us. (We are unable to respond to phone or email assistance requests. ALL assistance requests must be submitted via our recipient application.) After the application is processed, an application status will be sent to the case manager. If an application is approved, an appointment date for furniture selection and delivery will be set at 8:30am on a Wednesday morning. Upon accepting furniture and household items the recipient will be asked to sign a release form.
